The International Competitive Intelligence Journey: Not Just a Conference — A Structured Implementation Journey
The Institute for Competitive Intelligence (ICI) launches the 20th edition of the International Competitive & Market Intelligence Journey — a three-phase program that converts professional development into measurable organizational results. Structured across self-paced Intensives, a live Conference, and a post-conference Activation Circle, every stage anchors learning to a real project from the participant's own organization.
The Problem With Most Training Events
Most professional events deliver fresh ideas and inspiring conversations. Organizations need more than inspiration — they need a process that turns learning into execution, and does not stop when the event ends. The International Competitive & Market Intelligence Journey delivers exactly that.
Three Phases. One Continuous Project.
The Journey unfolds across three structured phases, each one building on the last.
- Phase 1 — Intensives (April 20 – June 17 | Remote, Self-Paced): Participants define a real-world intelligence challenge from their organization and build structured CI capability across two focused modules: OSINT and How to Set Up CI Units.
- Phase 2 — Conference & Workshops (June 23–25 | Frankfurt and Remote): Participants refine their project through expert sessions, hands-on workshops, and direct access to the international CI community — deepening and stress-testing the work already underway.
- Phase 3 — Activation Circle (June 29 – October 1 | Remote): The Journey reaches its decisive stage.
The Activation Circle: Where Learning Becomes Organizational Value
The Activation Circle is the Journey's core differentiator — the phase that answers the question every manager eventually asks: "What will this actually change for the business?"
Through structured coaching, peer review, and disciplined project delivery, it guides participants from insight to implementation — carrying the work forward into the organization, rather than leaving it behind in notebooks, slide decks, or good intentions.
This is not a supplementary module. It converts individual learning into shared organizational capability and turns a training investment into a demonstrable business outcome. Only participants who complete at least one Intensive can access the Activation Circle — a deliberate design choice that ensures shared methodology and consistent delivery standards across every cohort.
Many organizations already have intelligent people, access to data, and exposure to good ideas. What they lack is a repeatable way to turn those inputs into decisions, action, and organizational learning.
A Stronger Return on Development Spend
The traditional conference model asks employers to trust that attendance leads to improvement. The Journey makes that link explicit and structural.
Participants return not with slides or frameworks, but with a real implementation project:
- defined during the Intensives,
- refined during the Conference,
- and delivered as a concrete organizational outcome during the Activation Circle.
Instead of telling stakeholders "we attended a training event," leaders can say: "we ran a structured process that turned an intelligence challenge into a business outcome." In a world where every development investment must justify itself, that distinction matters.
You don't return with slides. You return with results.
