Setting up a Research Center by using Artificial Intelligence

Christine Sterenborg was not looking for a billion dollar take-over when she started to use smart algorithm to search the internet. She only wanted to know what her customers wanted.

So, in 2014 she set up an AI-based competitor web-analysis software at Deutsche Telekom for all 10 European Telecom branches. Her team has entered in the software over 285 Internet resources, like branch media reports, analyst reports and news items. “In the past, we had to use several students for days, just searching the internet and press releases”, says Christine Sterenborg. “The software delivers the same information real-time automatically”.

It took two years though, before the software was intelligent enough to provide the needed information. In the meantime, the team had to integrate many data sources in the software. Furthermore they build interactive dashboards - charts with graphics and news items to click-on – with interesting themes like 5G, smartphones, IoT, glass fiber cable etc. The AI software analyses how often and from which internet sources these key words are searched.
